Dog saves 10-year-old boy, his mom from rattlesnake in Lancaster

Cole Lewis and his family embraced their dog Nala Monday afternoon when she jumped out of a hyperbaric chamber at their veterinary hospital.

It's the first time they've seen their dog since she jumped in front of Cole and his mom when they saw a rattlesnake while taking a walk in their Lancaster neighborhood Sunday.

I do not like Rattlesnakes. I was in san Antonio and decided one night to take shortcut through a field and I had no flashlight and just followed a path that I usually walked during the day. As I was walking I heard a distinct rattle in the dark and froze, slowly backed up and went back the way that I had just walked. Luckily, no other Rattlers had moved onto he path and I made my way safely back to the street. Never again did I walk the path daylight or dark. I knew there were some Rattlesnakes as large as a man's forearm around that area! I'm a scaredy cat!
