IMHO, this one area that the US should be taking the initiative and be leading the pack and not be behind and trying to catch up to China, Russia, etc.

I think the Air Force is big enough to absorb being the "Space Force." I can't begin to imagine the expense of another branch of the military. Where are they going to build the bases or are they going to open closed bases? Time will tell.

The USAF has a very sizable and adept Space Command. As cool as it sounds, I don’t think this is the time to break up a branch of our armed forces or add another layer of command. Another service secretary, another chief of staff, and all the other perfumed princes? No thanks.

It can’t happen without congressional authorization anyway so we’ll see where it goes.
