Yeah, let's make it legal for 18 year olds to buy handguns.
In all fairness, people that act like that dont magically stop acting that way 3 years later. I would argue if anyone wanted to establish an arbitrary age where we start actually acting like adults and considering long term consequences of our decisions, the legal age for all of it (including voting) should be no lower than 25 years old. If you choose to enlist in the military, you can be considered an adult for so long as you are in good standing or until you turn 25. If you get any form of dishonorable discharge and are under 25, sorry but you are still a kid.
