The policy of handloads voiding warranties isn't anything new. Virtually all manufacturers have that disclaimer in their manuals. This policy is probably more of a direct result of the massive influx of new firearms owners that looked to DPMS for a 'black rifle' during the scare. With ammo being scarce, that snatched up whatever they could find with the idea that 'hey ammo is ammo, right?' and are now having problems. Those in the know understand that not all ammo is the same. not all firearms are the same. But the new guy shooting Brown Bear or Tula (because thats what Wal-Mart had) is now experiencing feeding issues, stuck cases and a whole host of other problems. Naturally, they blame the rifle, not the ammo and are sending them back for 'repair' I've even run across guys that have bought new rifle and 500 rounds of Laquered Tula ammo at wally world, taken it to the range and blown through all of it in one sitting and not cleaned the rifle. THEN they wonder why they have problems. from that point on. This is how cheap ammo bites a manufacturer in the butt and we all have to pay.
