Yeah, it's not worth it. ENID, Okla. — A 23-year-old Enid man was arrested Tuesday morning while leading Enid police on a pursuit in a 15-ton Skytrak forklift through downtown Enid as traffic began picking up during morning commutes. Garrett Michael Anderson was booked into Garfield County Detention Facility on complaints of grand larceny, public intoxication (drugs), malicious injury to property and an outstanding Garfield County warrant. About 7:40 a.m., Enid Police Department received a call reporting the theft of the 15-ton forklift stolen from the downtown hotel construction site, 100 W. Maine, Sgt. Nick John said. Responding officers located the forklift in the 300 block of West Randolph and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. In the 200 block of North Adams, Anderson dumped a load of bricks in the bucket of the forklift into the roadway, John said. Anderson refused to stop and eluded officers for about 15 minutes before the forklift overheated and became inoperable in the 600 block of East Maple. Anderson was then taken into custody. Two windows inside the hotel were broken, and workers found two broken boxes of tile at the job site. Officers were still on the scene conducting interviews and gathering information as of 9:30 a.m., John said. -
