[QUOTE="Brandi, post: 1892375, member: 24446"] If his mission was not making much sense then, yes, he accomplished it. I'm a HUGE Clint Eastwood fan but his speech was fluff for applause. He talked about unemployment under Obama being unacceptable but when we had a Republican president we had the same problem and apparently that was ok with him. He took a shot at Obama saying lawyers shouldn't be presidents but maybe should have checked our country's history first...Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Franklin Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are just a few of them. Everything he said that was negative about Obama is said every election about every sitting president at the time. The one glaring bit of super fluff was talking about Obama wanted to end the Iraq war and that was ok but apparently fighting the Afghan war wasn't a problem and he should have checked the Russians success fighting in Afghanistan before getting involved in that. Um...it was the Republican party especially that pushed for that war, fighting the Taliban has been a core rallying point of the GOP. If you had asked any Republican when this war started if we should back down from the fight because the Russians got their butts kicked you would have got flag bashed. Yet...Clint acts like it was the other way around and we all clap like hell cause it's Clint Eastwood. After that speech the entire convention would have jumped off a cliff if Clint jumped first and then maybe, just maybe questioned why. Wow...if the GOP can't even see through Clint Eastwood's speech the party is going to pick back up where Bush left off and the Republican party was forced into major damage control to repair itself. If the GOP wants to be in charge again they better start improving the party and their politics because blind partisan voting is slowly deteriorating and people of both parties are starting to vote for themselves instead of the party.
