I seen a Eco Can Suppressor on you tube and it looks awesome. Its and adapter that you can screw on the barrel and any oil filter. That would be the only thing a Fram Filter be good for.

It would be a felony to use the adapter with an oil filter on your firearm unless the adapter were registered as a suppressor itself. I cannot see why anyone in their right mind would pay a $200 tax to register something that makes a lousy silencer nor risk a federal felony charge for using an unregistered one.

I see that he is advertising them as solvent traps. Hookers can advertise themselves as escorts too but they are what they are...

Whipped Cream in a can wasn't initially thought of as a cheap way for kids to get high but there are many things with many uses.

True, but the point I was trying to make is:

1. You can find these adapters that are legally registered and transfer on a Form 4 with a $200 tax. They make a terrible suppressor and are a total waste of money IMHO.

2. You can find these adapters that are NOT registered (advertised as something else) and you then risk a felony conviction for using one to suppress your firearm (and they still do a lousy job at that).

Either way seems pretty stupid to me. YMMV

Plus 1 on that. If I am going to pay a $200.00 tax for a can, its going to be a real can. Gemtich, AAC or something like that. Now on something like that Oil Can Adapter, I am not going to risk all the guns I do have and get that big fine and go to jail. I am starting to have a few nice things and I do not want to have it all taken away from me for some small BS crap like that.

I agree with you M16. The guy selling the "Solvent traps" is a fool. He is probably only looking at a matter of time before one of his products makes the news. Even if he is legal I think he's a damn fool to try and sell something that you know what it's likely to be used for but turns the blind eye to it.

Like the kid who asks you to buy him a 24 pack for his dad because the cashier wont let him...

If I was going to pay $200 for a stamp to run a suppressor you better believe I'd be getting a real suppressor, not some O'Reilys special.

The part that confuses me is that the Government requires you to pay the $200 tax on these adapters. But I did not have to pay that tax on the adapter I just bought for my CZ American that allows the use an American threaded suppressor on this rifle. Both adapters do the exact same thing. Allowing a you to adapt the threads on your barrel to a different thread size.
