I stand corrected. I was not aware that the Phantom has Inconel baffles. I thought it was all SS. Is this a recent change?

It's been that'a way for as long as I can remember. All of the major manufacturers use inconel on their 5.56mm can blast baffles (AAC, KAC, Gemtech, YHM, etc.). It's pretty much universally accepted as "the standard".

Major is good people. In fact, it's about time for me to start calling him daily to see if my papers are in.


Also, in sound suppression 6dB is the equivalent to DOUBLE the actual sound pressure. I think the average Joe can probably hear the difference between 2 cans starting around 3dB.

I just realized where I messed up. The standard Phantom is all carbon steel (http://www.yhm.net/store/phantom556.html). The SS Phantom is SS and Inconel. The standard one is the one I was thinking of when I made my comment. I was still wrong, but at least now I know I am not totally stupid.
