A backyard chicken keeper is losing money. They do it for the enjoyment or egg security. A 50 lb bag of scratch grain is $16.73 add tax $ 18.23.

Weed market is already hitting saturation, many people are already losing their shirts.
Truth ... I used to give eggs away to the neighbors.
Then they started wanting all brown eggs; and

And FINALLY -- Jeez the price of eggs are getting crazy, huh?? I sold some of the eggs you gave me to a cousin. He REALLY likes them!

He is absolutely SHOCKED that my chickens don't lay in the winter.
