What are your thoughts? What brand and where to find the best deal? I'm looking for suggestions.

    Thank you in advance

Another vote here for Pro Ears - I use them for rifle and pistols. Ear muffs get in the way for some reason when I shoot shotguns.

I use cheapos and I have a set of cheapos for my girl. Both work well. Mine are about 7 years old and get used a lot. Battery life is stupid long. Switch well. No complaints just not as slim a profile as the better ones. Im pretty sure mine are Caldwell but I can look some time today if you want to know.

I used a pair of $50 Howard Leights for several years. You get what you pay for. My hearing loss in my left ear (I shoot right handed) is to the point I'm looking at a cochlear implant as hearing aids won't help, so they say.

Now I wear a pair of MSA Sordin XL Supremes with the gel inserts. If I'm shooting rifles or I'm indoors I'm wearing a set of Surefire EP4 plugs under them with the filter cap open.

I would strongly suggest not cheaping out like I did and get the MSA Sordins or the Peltor Comtac 3 model without the comms which actually test a bit better than the Sordins. I was going to go with the Peltor but I found a screaming deal on Amazon with SRS being the vendor so I went with the Sordins.

SRS Tactical is the best place to get them, I don't think you'll beat their price anywhere and their CS is excellent.

Edit to add. The MSA Sordins are just uncanny at how well the sound works. You can tell exactly which direction a voice or twig breaking is coming from and they don't clip the sound with gunfire like the cheapy muffs do, they just throttle it down. Cheapos turn off completely and come back on after the sound level drops to safe levels hence the term "clipping". They are very frustrating after wearing the good ones. I still wear my HLs but only when I'm mowing...

Battery access is through the ear opening under a foam pad. This is the usual design with many brands.

Believe me it can get worse. Think of all that on a bullhorn.
