Is there a source for data on actual unsuppressed vs suppressed results? I see the charts that show the post suppressor db levels, but nothing to compare against. What I would like to see is db level un-suppressed vs db level suppressed. Same round, same gun.

Agree with Jeff... You should find what you are looking for there.

You can also just do a little digging. I have stubbled across some youtube videos where people video tape their tests and provide the dB levels for each shot/ammo, and then show the dB reduction at the end.

    Much like this.

Anything on silencer talk is probably going to be pretty dated and possibly biased. I prefer nfa talk because the owner is a pretty cool dood IMO. Titsworth from silencer research is kindofa tool.

Keep in mind, the measuring equipment is measuring pressure, which is fine as long as the comparison is similar it will give you a good idea. One key item these tests can't measure is the perceived tone of the can from your ear. Some cans have a deeper tone which to your brain seems quieter than a can that has a higher pitched tone.

    Something to keep in mind.

silencer research has a free area and actually if you wanna drop good money for a can it might be worth paying for a little info. actually this is how i found the major several years ago.
