Enfield sporter in 257 Roberts

Nice rifle but I don’t shoot it. Hard to find ammo and I don’t reload. Could/should I re-barrel this to 308, or would be too much trouble and I should just get rid of it?

Thats a really nice Enfield Sporter I would leave it alone its too pretty to butcher someone put some love into making that

That's a beautiful rifle. I wouldn't touch it! Just stock up on ammo as you find it. Great cartridge!

It would be easier and cheaper to buy a basic reloading starter kit than it would be to try to re-barrel it.

How much would you sell it for?

.257 Roberts? I don't fear the judgement day, but if I rebarreled that piece of art I'd be nervous. I'd gladly adopt it and care for it as if it were my own.

The .257 Roberts is a 7x57 case necked down to .25 - if there ever was a perfect whitetail cartridge that may be it.

Exactly this . There are lots of crappy sporter jobs which were built over the years , whoever commissioned that one insured the job was done nicely .

Yep, buy some ammo or just sell it. Very nice rifle and a fine deer cartridge.
