Nice rifle but I don’t shoot it. Hard to find ammo and I don’t reload. Could/should I re-barrel this to 308, or would be too much trouble and I should just get rid of it?

.257 Roberts? I don't fear the judgement day, but if I rebarreled that piece of art I'd be nervous. I'd gladly adopt it and care for it as if it were my own.

The .257 Roberts is a 7x57 case necked down to .25 - if there ever was a perfect whitetail cartridge that may be it.
