I recently picked up a Colt 1911 officers model, and the white dots are very faded. I’m planning on simply using finger nail polish to touch them up, but I figured it was worth getting some other opinions first. Does anybody use sight paint, and is it worth it? Should I try a different color besides white? What color do you guys prefer? This gun will primarily be used on the range, but it might be an occasional carry gun.

I found some bright red/orange fingernail paint Gel at W/M for my front sight and it has worked well. Has been on 4-5 months EDC after using a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to clean the oil off.
