Has anyone tried the Federal HST 150 micro 9mm ammo?
I haven't tried it. It's basically a lower recoil ammo at $1+ per round.
Dang, that price!
Here's a gel test comparing it to other HST rounds.
Best online price I found is $1.11 per round compared to $.37 per round for the 124 grain HST +P that I use.
The price on HST 124 +p is great. I'm switching to it, from Gold Dots because of it
I am beginning to think the same way.
I'm using the Federal 124gr in my really small 9mm, the 147gr in my other 9s. To me I just can't see that much difference in ballistics and other variables to justify the price of 150s.
I've got Fed HST 124+P in all my 9mm pistols too. Best price I found was at www.bonefroggunclub.com
From the video above, Im speculating that the 150gr is like the 124 +p Gold Dots for short barrels. Speer either used less powder or a faster burning powder so there would less flash from short barrels (I actually called and asked but cant remember what their answer was)
The performance between 124 +P and the 124 +p Short Barrel is the same for a 3inch barrel. The regular 124 +p just has more muzzle flash from short barrels
