I don't think he's worried about a timer at uspsa or steel challenge, just some fun pinker loads.
It would be if I were shooting suppressed. In competition the timer has to hear the rounds go off. I've had to do several re-shoots cause the timer didn't pick up the sounds of the shots and my time was wrong.
Maybe the timer needs to visit the hearing aid thread...
Fire - Which books are you useing ? None of mine have that warning - my lateless books don't--ie Lyman handloader & Ar books and hodgdon 2016 annual
I understand, but I think the manual is giving that warning to prevent a light load from getting stuck in the longer rifle barrel.
I read it wrong. My bad.
Speer #14. Page 855. "147 grain bullets not recommended for barrels LESS than 10".
Ok my speer book is # ?? 1988
I have found that the club timers at the OKCGC don't pick up .22 rifle nor some of the PCC rifles well.
What ever squad I'm on uses my CED timer. We never have to do reshoots because of timers not picking up shots.
maybe all the club / match timers need to be adjucted to pick up mousse farts
I have an Olympic Arms Glock 9mm carbine. It has shot everything I put into it. I have hit gongs atv335yds regularly with my EOTECH. Many guys hit out to 450yds with a real scope. These are very useful little carbines for sure.
