Problem is that "THOSE" cops don't exist in a vacuum. Far too many "good cops" know what goes on and look the other way thus negating their "good cop" rating.
You have proof of that or are you just going by what you've heard. If you do have proof please provide it so we all can see.

There wasn't anything anyone could have done unless someone was trapped on the right side of the right vehicle, and that's a maybe. If you've never been around a fully involved vehicle, 15' is just about too close depending on the wind. Air bag canisters, shocks, struts, unburnt fuel tanks still ready to explode possibly at any moment.

So will the state of California sue the automobile manufacturer for this? Surely with all the technology available these days the car would have known it was in a 35 mph zone and could have governed its speed down to prevent this from happening.
Guns cause crime and cars cause wrecks. The victim's families should sue Mercedes Benz.

I made the assertion, you are welcome to provide evidence to prove me wrong.

But here is just one sample that I am personally familiar with -
When he was the police chief in Buffalo, Oklahoma, investigators caught him but told him if he resigned as chief - got out of law enforcement and got help for his habit - they wouldn't prosecute.
Are you willing to state that that is the only time something like that has ever happened in the history of law enforcement?

I'm old enough to have been around the block a time or two. I don't care what line of work you are in. If you have a bad co-worker whether they are a bully, incompetent, brown noses, thief... what have you, people know about it. If you are going to tell me that jerks, bullies and crooks that just happen to be cops and have no business wearing a badge exist as jerks bullies and crooks without their fellow officers knowing it then you are trying to sell a bill of goods I ain't buying. Or are you asserting that there is no such thing as a bad cop?

That could also lead to another accident. Slowing down, or worse stopping, at an intersection with a green light? You're just asking for another driver who isn't paying attention to hit you and increase the damage. I was trained to not trust anyone on the road, to treat every other driver like they're LOOKING to cause an accident, and honestly, people who slow down to just LOOK at accidents aren't helping anyone. If you want to help, pull over, but you're just endangering others by suddenly changing the flow of traffic.
Edit: Keep in mind, I'm talking about the action of slowing down to LOOK at the accident, rubbernecking to see what happened instead of focusing on controlling your vehicle. It's completely acceptable to slow down for emergency responders nearby, but if you're just doing it so you can see a dead body or whatever, come on...
Yeah not really talking about slowing down to gawk. More about the fact a car just t-boned another one at the intersection doing a 100mph and exploded in a fireball. Is there another one? Are they being chased? Is anyone paying attention? I just didn't see much caution by some, considering the circumstances.

I'm not only old I have been around the block too and I've lived the life, have you? Rhetorical question.

Your one example of a bad cop is meaningless to me. As I've said I know there are bad cops just like there are bad people in every profession. With the exception of politicians, people like you however choose to overlook them, just like you do with the thousands of good deeds cops do every single day. You're no different than CNN and the rest of the main stream media who take every opportunity they can to point out something some cop did wrong and then lump a whole group of people together based off of that incident. I, others I have worked with, along with cops everywhere have literally risked our lives to save complete strangers and people who we know hate us. Would you do that? Don't bother answering, it's another rhetorical question. However, before you tell me it's part of the job, many of us have gone well above what the job requires, but I guess you probably won't believe that will you because as far as you're concerned we're only in it for ourselves. We don't care about bad cops, we don't care about the people, people like you, we swore an oath to protect and serve. The trouble with people like you is you think you have all the answers when the reality is you are clueless. It's sad really.

According to the link, the alleged drunk driver survived.
She "survived the crash and had to be extricated from her car, KTLA reported."
