This is Gus the Airedale Terrier, he is about 15months old, already weighs 70lb. Pretty smart, seems to be making the transition to his new home pretty good.I got him a working dog harness kit so he can be a "Tactical Terrier".
I wish I would have had one of these dog rigs for my Airedale I had years ago. That grab handle and attatch points are pretty cool. The kit came witb collar, bungee leash, chest harness and a cool velcro flag patch.
He is pretty well behaved but very playful and onery about getting stuff like TV remotes and he grabbed the handle of the pancake spatula and took off with it when I was cooking breakfast

I raised three litters of them, sold all of through High Plains Journal farm & ranch classified ads. My male Garcia was an incredible working dog and very cool buddy who went everywhere with me. Big teddy bear around my grandkids, pissed off wolverine when he was serious business

Wonderful dog. My uncle Preston had one ,named Harry Joe! Drug in a fawn deer. By himself one morning. Would have killed anyone had they tried to touch it. My uncle had to haul it off after a couple of days of HRry Joe eating on it.
Very smart dogs too.

Going bear hunting?
Always wanted to take my old dog Garcia on a bear or pig hunt, he was a raccoon and woodchuck destroyer. Airedales are a different critter. This new pup doesnt have near the prey drive Garcia did. Not necessarily a bad thing in Airedales who are usually over the top prey drive crazed murderers of anything small and fuzzy

My father had a pair of Airedales when I was a kid. I remember them well neat dogs, great stock dogs, that worked as a team with a cross pit bulldog . There wasn't anything that could get the best of these three. I remember them being nervous type dogs, and were dangerous if startled!
