I've got a buddy who I've known for almost 30 years, who is an Alamo Ranger. For years I've been trying to plan a trip to San Antonio to visit him and catch up. But for some reason, something always got in my way. Whether it was work, money, covid, whatever. This seemingly short trek always had to be placed on the back burner for "someday."

Well, my two daughters surprised me with a belated father's day gift - a 4 day/3 night trip! My question is...besides all the obvious, The Alamo, Riverwalk, SeaWorld, Fiesta Texas, etc., what else is there to see and do (clap, clap, clap, clap) deep in the heart of Texas?

Mia terria restaurant in old town best Mexican food ive ever had

^ this try if for all 3 meals during your trip. B-fast, lunch, dinner. Explore the market while you’re there.

Take the boat ride, it’s part of going to SA.

You can also get a map of the old missions and do a self tour of the remaining missions in and around town. Very neat to see.

On either the way down or back, journey out to the Salt Lick and get the meat sweats.

San Antone is one of my favorite places. Enjoy your trip!

Not to far from the Alamo, about a mile or two, is a place called the Guenther House.
As I recall, only serves breakfast and lunch but awesome food and coffee (founders blend).
Cinnamon rolls are to die for.
We still order our coffee beans from there.
