Finally, Mini-Mags at Walmart,,,

My Walmart hasn't had any .22 ammo in over 6 months,,,
Yesterday they had probably fifty of the 100 round packs of 40 grain Mini-Mags.

The Academy has had them regularly now for about 6 months,,,
But where Academy is asking $8.99 per 100 rounds,,,
Walmart is asking $7.47 per 100 rounds.

That's only 98 cents more than their pre-Obama prices.

The kicker is that Walmart is still doing the 3 boxes a day thing,,,
Academy, Bass Pro, & Cabela's have all stopped that limit.

So, back I go on my lunch break and again after work.

I saw some at the Walmart on I35 & 15th the other day too. Didn't need them but bought a box anyway!

I'm still in buy it when I see it mode,,,
But now it's only for the ammo I really like.

I'm retiring in 680 days and I will not have much disposable money,,,
I would like to have 75,000 rounds of rimfire by then.

Since I shoot mostly single-shot rifles and revolvers,,,
That could easily be a lifetime supply for me.

Looked at the Ponca Walmart today. Nothing. Almost 3 years now.

Looked at WM in Lawton on Sheridan - lots of CCI 300 packs of .22LR Minimag.

Correction - 300 packs of CCI 40gr, plated round nose non-Minimag (1200 fps rated)

I've talked to the sporting goods manager at the Ponca store asking why no .22? She told me that they don't order ammo from the store. They get whatever Bentonville sends them. She said she can see what stores get .22 ammo though. For example the Walmart store on 51 west in Stillwater gets it all the time vs the Walmart on Perkins rarely gets any in the same town.

I haven't seen a single round of .22 in WalMart in over 4 years. I'm not a neckbeard, but I swing by the counter on most trips, usually 2-4 times per month.
