There's one down in the Wichita Mountains too. Prolly get about the same reception there. The little bastards are fun to shoot. Once upon a time, I had access to one that was about 3 square miles, and no section lines, out in NE NM. As fun as it was, it was really expensive. When you're shooting that much, even cheap ammo was costly. We shot them over the cab from the back of the pickup, while the adults sat up front listening to the radio, lying to each other and drinking beer. They'd toss the empties in the back, we'd fetch another one from the ice chest, and on we'd motor. Just creeping across the prairie at a slow idle. Alas, the absentee rich TX land owner finally decided the prairie dogs had to go, so they had someone that killed em as a profession come out and poison the little buggers. In one weekend, 3 square miles of prairie dogs disappeared. It was a heartbreaker. I was sad. Not as sad as the local that managed the ranch. His pipeline to free beer whenever someone wanted to come out and shoot 'em ran dry. It was sure fun while it lasted.
