Legitimate criticism of national policy being influenced by a foreign country (Israel, in this case) is not Anti-Semitism. Being a Southern Baptist until most of my life, I've heard the flip side of Anti-Semitism from the pulpit and congregation so much that it is embarrassing to admit that I subjected myself and my family to that for as long as I did. The official attitude seems to be subjection of American independence to whatever Israel wants. To deny any aspect of Israel's right to exist, deny non-Jews same rights as other citizens of their country, torture prisoners, expand territory, even attack an American warship- is paramount to heresy. It's too easy to simply point at a group (Muslim. Jew, Whatever) and say "they aren't like us" "they want to destroy us because of how we live". Most of the world couldn't care less how we live. They care that we influence how THEY live. Why? What's so hard about having a secure border, dealing with all nations as neighbors, favoring none above the other? Be mean and strong enough that no one wants to mess with you, and don't waste one drop of American blood in any conflict not in our defense. Sending any American off to risk life and limb for anything else is treason. Smedley Butler had it figured out.
