Hate to disappoint everyone with a non-political post, but..... I want to update/remodel my fireplace and looking for any suggestions or experience with any local sellers. I'll be replacing my current gas/wood box with a dedicated gas fireplace with logs. I also want to add stone/tile to the wall as well as on the floor in front of the fireplace and add a new mantle, something with a floating live edge look to it. We went to Rick's House of Fire and looked over their units. Seemed like a nice setup they proposed, it was a 25K BTU Fireplace Xtrordinair unit. They don't do tile work but have subs they use. I was only able to get a cost window and it was pretty wide, anywhere from $5K - $7K for install, which does not include any tile work or electrician work for the lights and gas hookup. I can do the tile work, but have a tendency to be a bit slow to get things past the finish line so was looking at installers for that but have not had any luck finding one through word of mouth. Previous guy I've used is out as well as two guys he pointed me toward. - Any input on Rick's? Prices about as expected or prices kind of high? - Any other dealers/installers around town worth talking with for this? Looking for a place with a showroom.. - Any suggestions for a tile installer? It would be wall and floor. Thanks.
