First bucks in daylight

This morning is the first morning I have seen any bucks in daylight. Their activity has been strictly nocturnal since Nov 1. My does were in a big herd and coming for breakfast. Their activity has been primarily at dusk or after shooting light. Hunting should be good to rifle season now.

My wife saw a doe in the front yard when she left for PT yesterday morning.

Had some daylight pics off and on, but nothing on a regular basis. Be in the stand tomorrow to see what is moving.

Saw bucks moving all day long today but peaked around 1:30pm when I had bucks moving in every direction -Tripp’s with god visibility for a mile in all directions. This was in Woodward county. Also, Wife sent me a pic of a mature buck In The middle of a wheat field near home in Yukon area at around
1 pm.

Coyotes ran off the only deer I had a shot at. A cull buck at sunrise and two does just before sunset. Saw at least 8 different very healthy yotes today.

Quail were also plentiful which is what I was happiest about.

Seeing quail in my areas in the NW as well. Pheasant are just about non-existent.

We tried 4 areas that have been holding quail for years and nothing. West of Enid about 30 miles
