1950 Ford flat head, bought it for $25.00 with a blown engine. Bought a wrecked 49 for another $25.00. Me and 3 buddies carried the engine out of the wreck using a chain and 4X4 over to the 50 in my back yard. Put it together laying on my back in the dirrt.

I don't know if you would call it a stick shift ,but a manual trans. Farmall Super C. Car was a 1963 Rambler American 3 on the tree that I shared with my brother. First car of my own was a 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite 4 on the floor.

This ugly monstrosity. Well, one much like it at least, this is just a random pic from net. It's an 82 Mercury Lynx. The Kmart version of the Ford Escort. I was so embarrassed to be driven around in that thing, but getting to learn to drive stick in it at 14 was a huge thing for me. That thing was as much of a piece of crap as it was ugly. Back in 05 I had an 87 ford escort GT. That was a fun little car. It wasn't fast but it handled well.

Where they bust the sod in South Tulsa County.
My dad was a great mechanic and fixed everything on his vehicles...When a little kid until leaving home I was required to be at his side when he repaired something to observe and fetch tools. I hated the duty...
Yeah, an I'll bet you got yelled at for not pointing the flashlight where he told you!

A 1950 ugly green Plymouth with a flat head six and three on the column. Purchased from retired school teacher for $50.00 at age 14.
The thing had 50,000 miles on it. Back then in Kansas you could drive to and from school and work on a learner's permit. Drove it to and from school and on my paper route. Sold it for $50.00 to a gas station and then purchased a 1965 Pontiac GTO for $500.00 with four on the floor. Wish I'd kept the GTO.
