I thought most fishing tournaments it was a live weigh in and release? I don’t fish tournaments so only going off what I understand from previous fishing videos I’ve seen.

Why were these fish cut open? Just on suspicion of cheating?

They noticed that the cheater’s fish weighed more than the larger fish caught by other anglers. Apparently this wasn’t the first time this had been seen with the cheater.

I may or may not have snagged a bass in a fishing tournament when I was a kid (30 years ago)....

I know we have a law enforcement fella on here and I'm not sure what the statute of limitations is so it may not have happened.

I'm honestly surprised, more like shocked, they made it out of the parking lot without some of their blood being spilt. Some, not all, of the dudes I fished with would have administered a little immediate justice when the first weight popped out.
