Just a fish story since I didn't take pics but the buzz bait bite is on. Fish were extremely shallow.
Care to share which lake that was?
Lakes are huge. Not sure why giving out a specific lake means anything. I’m just wondering what part of the state the saugeye are biting in. I didn’t ask for a specific cove.
We have them in bluestem lake but I went out yesterday and the water is so low they can’t reach where I catch them for years I was the only one that fished for them never seeing anybody else I took a good friend of mine and we caught both limits of big females within 30 minutes the next spring I went back there and couldn’t find a place to fish I got to talking to some of the guys and they were all from my buddies home town (not saying you would do that) but that’s what happens pm me and I can tell you a spot on the lake you can fish better from a boat but I catch them from the bank also
Caught a few small crappie around the boat slip yesterday. Went down to check on the boat and thought I would see if they are moving in. Normally I can catch a couple of limits when they start moving in to the shallows. Not there yet.

Once I found out how far to let my jig fall, I almost went 10 for 10 on crappie. Ended up catching about 35. Only one decent female though. All the others were small males about the size of my hand maybe a bit bigger.
Landed two bass and lost another about the same size. Got into one that was making my line sing. He got off before I could get a look at him.
