[QUOTE="Master Carper, post: 4081273, member: 15527"] I decided to go do a little fly fishing this morning before work and was on the water at 5:45 and had my little boat loaded back in the truck by 9:00. With the wind blowing 15 mph at day break, I went with a little heavier than normal set-up with the following: Redington Vice 10 ft. 7 wt. fly rod Sage Spectrum fly reel 9 ft. hand tied tapered nylon leader plus a 3 ft. tippet of 6 pound fluorocarbon Floating fly line The only fly I fished this morning was a hand tied pine squirrel zonker Fish were small, and since my youngest daughter was home sick with COVID, she asked me to bring "4" fish home to fry up for her... All toll, I managed to get 18 bass in the boat, lost several, and had a 15+ pound flathead take me for a ride, and after a good 20 to 25 minute fight, when I finally got it to the boat and it broke the surface, all heck broke loose! That fish decided it didn't want in the boat, and when it took off, I couldn't stop it and it popped the 6 pound tippet. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted...
