Finally saw one in person. At our location we saw a heavy thunderstorm with lots of lightning several miles away that lasted for an hour in the mountains. Bone dry and sunny for us.
About an hour after that, we heard a roar and then a boom when a wall of mud hit the abandoned train bridge, coming underneath and running down the side of our location, finally ending up in the river below.
Limited pics as it was mud 2’ deep under the bridge and from what we were told, 6-8’ deep on the other side of the bridge. County equipment has been clearing the mud for 5 hours now and ongoing. Any vehicles would have likely been covered up.
The bridge blocked most of it.
