@Timmy59

I coulda swore I saw a message from you here asking about the gizmo!

I logged on to answer and it was gone! 😁

I tried a search for cone shape food mill and got lots of hits.

NOTE; If I was buying I would want stainless, because I believe the tomato acid eats at the aluminum a tiny bit and have read where aluminum is bad for our bodies!

Hopefully I get something different (stainless) soon!

Electric powered would be nice!

@dennishoddy
How about some pics of your meat grinder / food mill, please.

This is mine. It's a manual unit that does a great job but it takes a lot of time. Took a couple hours to do enough tomatoes to make a gallon of juice.

To this (using a knife cutting cores and blemishes, and the cone gizmo for seeds and skins)

In 2hr 20 minutes!
That is a 24 quart stock pot!

With this much seeds and skins left over for the chickens (not quite 3-1/2 pounds)

That made 12 quarts and 1 pint of tomato sauce

That is true, I asked a question then found the gizmo and deleted the post.

You can find manual food mills all day at antique stores. that's where i found mine to process persimmons, had lots to choose from. make sure the nut and spring on the bottom are good and hold tight, because that tension helps push the pulp through.

you can pay a lot more for a brand new one that will likely be junk. i would recommend hitting up the antique store for all your old kitchen needs. i've found all sorts of manual food prep items that would have cost me waaay more to buy new; and i know they will last since they are already 50 years old lol.
