Do you include mags in the value of your gun? I never have, but then got to thinking that some of these have pretty expensive mags and it adds up when you get quite a few of them. I always did the gun with whatever is mounted on it as it comes out of the safe....

I do. I keep a running tally of Purchases, upgrades down to the date and cent. Let's me know exactly what I have in it.

I find no reason to keep track of the incriminating evidence, especially if someone else in the household could find it!!

100 percent this. I want to know exactly what it's worth so if I die my executor knows to get the right value for my daughter's college fund. And if it gets stolen I'll have a better list for insurance.

Some mags can be 100$ plus. Probably a good idea to track them.

The X-products M1A drum ($275) and the Sig mags (most are about $50 ea) are skewing the averages LOL
