It means that since a trust isn't considered a person, you can try to make a machine gun with a form 1 (before the ATF issues a clarification, i.e. fixes their error), which will be denied, but if you have super duper good lawyers and a lot of money to take on the .gov, you might win but probably not. Clear as mud.

It means someone thinks they found a loophole in the semantics of the law and then the clarification, that that the ATF will now address. Meanwhile, if anyone tries to exploit said loophole their form 1 will be cast into limbo until such a time as a clarification can be made to deny it.

In short, nothing has changed. It's a tempest in a teacup.

Registry is still closed to new transferable MGs so it doesn't matter what you or you acting under your trust do. You'll still be manufacturing an unregisterable MG. I for one don't want to be the test case on this one.
