I ate at a great catfish place years ago but no longer there.. Alameda street near thunder bird lakr had all you can eat on Tuesday nights. Excellent catfish. I make my own batter fried and the kids in our culdisac will eat it. They never eat fish, their father stated. 1.5 Cups corn meal. 3 Tablespoons Lawrys lemon pepper with zest of lemon. 1 Tablespoon Cajun seasoning. 2 teaspoons Dill weed. 1.5 teaspoons black pepper. Mix the above and leave it dry. Mix 1 egg and 1 Table spoon of milk to dip fish into and then dip into dry mix.. or put dry mix in bag and shake drop fish into it and coat. You can leave out the milk and just use egg. deep fry it.. You can make all you want to eat. I really do not know of any good places to get catfish that does not taste like mud. Catfish cove in Yukon is NOT good enough to go back twice. I did a fish fry with 1 other guy at my wife's work place a few years ago. 125 people. Only 1 complainer some fat younger negative nelly that said it could use less batter but tasted good. Heck only so much cornmeal will stick to a filet. he told me my fire was too far from the grate when I did hamburgers for them also. I told him step over here and flip some burgers.. It was a 4 foot by 2 foot homemade metal pit grill with 20lbs of charcoals creating heat.. He found out my coals were plenty close.. his arms getting very toasty and he could not keep up the flippin. I told him that is why I am wearing welding gloves. And he found out what the 2 5 gallon buckets full of cool water was for.. dipping your arms into to cool them off. He no longer was bitchin. :)
