Item Description: S&W 586 no dash 6" revolver. good looking revolver I never shot this gun. I wish i could say it was perfect. When i cock the hammer and you push the hammer and it is supposed to stay put. With this gun it pushes foward allowing the hammer to drop. Ive been told it needs a new hammer. I beleive S&W will fix this under their warranty but have not had a chance to speak with them. A new hammer is about $50-$75 I found. Bluing on the gun is nice and grips are nice original it appears as well, not perfect but pretty nice.

Asking $925 or best offer. A cash sale or partial cash sale with your trades considered. But maybe tempted to trade for something.

When these came out new the firing pin was too long and the primers would mushroom around it and stick. I had one and it would do it with factory 357 ammo. It would not do it with 38 ammo. Being a no dash I would assume it has not been fixed.

A 8-9 years ago or so i sent a 686 and 586 in for that recall and it covered all no dash 581/681/586/686 no dash and "-1" series of L frames. The issue was primers would fall out with magnum .357 loads on some guns. S&W pays for shipping back and forth and fixes them at no charge. One could contact S&W and they can tell if its been fixed or not by the serial number. Cool thing was when i sent it in, they also said they gave it a good "once over" while there at no charge. S&W customer service cant be beat.

Did they put an additional stamp on the grip frame indicating that the work was done? I have a no dash 586 that I don’t know if the recall was done or not.
