He would have died sooner or later.
The officer residing nonchalantly on his neck had nothing to do with his death.
The officer was bored, thinking about the bills he had to pay, the dinner he was going to have, and shapely women. Just another day at the offfice. What’s the big deal?
He says he can’t breathe and he cries for his Momma, then he stops moving, and doesn’t have a pulse, but what’s the big deal? What’s he need with a pulse anyway?
How can you convict him of ordinary Minneapolis police procedure?

Read the last line on the second to last paragraph of the complaint. That is what is going to get this officer convicted.

In fact read the entire complaint. Officer Lane expressed concern early on about excited delirium syndrome.

The prosecutor will probably show in court that this officer had the training, and represent that officer ignored the training, thus meeting element of depraved mine for 3rd degree Murder.
