I’ve been thinking a lot about why a person would do something like overscore a buck, and I’m at a loss.
Do B&C scorers get paid by the inch?:anyone:
Measuring a rack isn’t subjective, so why would anyone think they wouldn’t get caught?
Why would anyone risk their “job” and reputation to give someone else’s buck a few more inches on paper?!?:scratch:

I think he was tied to or partially owned Cimarron Canyon Outfitters.
I think he was trying to promote ‘big’ deer to boost their hunts. Just a theory though.
I believe that's his brother's operation, but he may have some ownership like you said. He does own a line of deer feeders and quite a bit of land. He also was paid for his stories which I'd seen in north American whitetail and one other publication. From what I've heard, he's over measured deer for 15 years. The 40+ 200" deer he alone measured last year brought speculation, especially when a few of them just clearly weren't close to that.
