It has probably already been said but it doesn’t mean anything. At the end of the day she will still caucus with democrats, and she will still vote with them 95% or more like she currently does.

Schumer is irrelevant. With a republican house majority taking over in Jan no one cares what Schumer wants. Well...in theory, anyway. Republicans can be masters of appeasement at times.
The major concern is that Chuckie will try to change the rules of the Senate to do away with the filibuster. At that point, they can do pretty much anything they want with a simple majority, like confirming all the terrible judges Brandon wants to appoint (including packing the SCOTUS).

We would hope that he’s not that shortsighted, but his history does not exactly fill one with confidence about his intelligence.

I don't think he has the support to do that within his party...what I've been reading, anyway. Some democrats know that's a very short-sighted solution because they know they won't hold the senate forever and that'll bite them square in the ass eventually.

Good news, hopefully she won't be the last to leave.
Honestly, I hope they all leave and go home and swallow 3 of Alka-Selzter tablets, then drink a quart of Fireball within 15 minutes, followed by dropping 3 tabs of Orange Sunshine, then smoke a carton of Pall Mall Cigarettes, and then strip to their underwear and run out on a very busy Interstate Highway or a major city intersection screaming and hollering.

Hopefully this would be giving their very best for the USA.

Doesn't sound like you've thought about that much...

At press time, it was not known whether she would still "caucus" with the Democrats in the Senate or whether she might change. I don't know if a senator that registers as an Independent "must" caucus with one of the major parties. If she doesn't have to caucus with either, then the Dems have lost one of their members.

Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema Leaves Democratic Party - Registers as Independent

"Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has left the Democratic Party and registered as an independent.

Sinema, in a Friday op-ed in the Arizona Republic, cited increasingly partisan interests and radicalization of both political parties as the reason for her departure.

"Americans are told that we have only two choices – Democrat or Republican – and that we must subscribe wholesale to policy views the parties hold, views that have been pulled further and further toward the extremes," Sinema wrote in the op-ed.

"Most Arizonans believe this is a false choice, and when I ran for the U.S. House and the Senate, I promised Arizonans something different," she continued. "I pledged to be independent and work with anyone to achieve lasting results. I committed I would not demonize people I disagreed with, engage in name-calling, or get distracted by political drama.""
That's all well and good but the rest of the story was she intends to caucus with DEMS. Maybe she is independent in name only?
