I don't think he has the support to do that within his party...what I've been reading, anyway. Some democrats know that's a very short-sighted solution because they know they won't hold the senate forever and that'll bite them square in the ass eventually.

How can you be an independent when you caucus with one party or the other? No party should be able to count you if you are an independent. When was the last time the independent Bernie Sanders voted with the GOP? Crap, he ran for president 2 times as a democrat.

And Joe Lieberman as he was Independent from 2006-2013 and still aligned with Dems most of the time.

Hard to tell. The progressives in the Democrat Party have been attacking her fairly hard, so one could never guess as to whether she might caucus with the Republicans. I don't expect her to because of her voting record, but who knows?

As I posted earlier... She's already said she's not caucusing with republicans. So, she lamely snubs the democrat party but aside from that this is likely a big nothing-burger.
