Not really a ghost story, but... I worked with a girl at a sheriff's department in Colorado. She moved to WA and became an "animal communicator". I never really believed in it but I always listened to her talk about her work. She started to make a name for herself and had a few very high profile clients. Then she decided to write a book. She called me and asked me one day if she could profile one of my dogs in her book...a Jack Russell Terrier named Stella. She had moved away before I even rescued Stella so she'd never seen her before. She needed a picture so I emailed her a picture of Stella. I owned a gun store at the time and there was one guy in particular that Stella just loved...Dave. Dave was about 14 years older than me and brought a little zip lock baggie of mini pretzels for lunch every day. My friend had never met Dave, either. I'm not even sure I ever mentioned his name to her. Anyway, Stella would jump up on a chair, then to a filing cabinet and then to a counter with the register where Dave always ate his lunch. She'd sit up like a little prairie dog until Dave gave her a pretzel then she'd get down and take the pretzel to her "spot" under the counter and eat it. This became a ritual between the two of them. Funny thing...if I was eating pretzels and tried to give her one she wouldn't have anything to do with it. Same for anyone else. Anyway, at some point several months later my friend mentioned she'd had a communicating session with Stella. She explained that Stella didn't respond with words necessarily...more often her response was in the form of an image my friend would receive along with what she called "energy". She explained "energy" most often felt like what humans would describe as emotion...anger, sadness, happy, love, etc.... She went thru several questions with Stella...favorite toy, favorite place to go, favorite place to sleep, etc.... All the answers my friend gave me were the generic type answers that, odds are, any dog would like. Then she said Stella told her that her favorite food was "pretzels" and she said there was an image in her mind of an older man and that there was "very loving" energy associated with the image. She said the image was of a man, about 60, average height and build with a very distinctive crew cut to his gray hair. Perfect description of Dave. 20 years later and I still don't know how she does it. I don't really believe in it but I can't deny it, either. Apparently someone believes in what my friend does because all she does now is speaking tours and talk shows. She had a show on Animal Planet some years ago...never really caught on but she did about 5 episodes, I think. 6 best-seller books, famous Hollywood type clients, etc.
