Update.
Took it out this morning and @Fyrtwuck brought his 43 to compare and swap parts.
The 43 slide works on the 48/43x frame and vise versa so with just the 48 and the 43 you could have a 48, a 43, a 43x and a 43 long slide. Pretty sweet deal IMO. The 43 long slide actually feels pretty decent under recoil.

So far it's a keeper. The grip is really growing on me quite a bit and it ran every reload and factory ammo I put through it.
Blue bullets 124 grain reloads
Xtreme 124 grain plated reloads
Rainier 124 grain JHP reloads
Aguila 117 grain JHP factory
Monarch 124 grain JHP factory

I brought more, but after 2 hours, the 35° temps got to me and I couldn't feel my fingers anymore and called it a day.

I'm pretty sure @Fyrtwuck is going to have a 43x soon.

Thinking more about it. More research says that if I were to get the 43x, I could still use the same holster I use for my 43.

That silver slide still bugs me. Wonder what it would cost to cerakote the slide?
