I've burnt many pounds of GOEX through my TC Hawkens in 45 and 50 cal........sad to see them close the doors.

Pyrodex does not work very well in cannons. Pydrodex requires a "pull" or resistance to the pressure to work. Since Cannons require windage-traditionally 1/40 of bore diameter, pyrodex is in-efficient.

Pyrodex also leaves a residue that attacks the zinc molecule in brass cartridges and rots them out. So I don't use it in my blackpowder cartridges.

I have yet to shoot synthetic, that works as well as black powder. My favorite is Triple 7. It works well as long as I use smokeless powder lube and cleaning solutions, else it develops the infamous Triple 7 crud ring.

Black powder is far easier to clean up than the synthetics.
