Trust me, I'm trying to kill every pig I can. Horrible critters. I have a couple hang ons, ladder, a blind and a climber. I'll sit on the ground in a ghillie suit if I have to.
I'm debating between sticking it out and making a ground blind. All the trees are small, only 6" or less at the bottom. The one I'm in now is close to 12" where the ladder attaches, but even with that I got out of the stand early today without the wind moving it so bad.

Don't underestimate ground hunting. Get a small seat or a 5 gallon bucket and pop a squat near where you know the deer are. Keep your movements slow and prepare for a hell of an adrenaline rush. I've found myself too reliant on stands at times. This year I swore I wasn't staying anywhere that I wasn't seeing deer. Still burned too much time in October.

Same thing I’m doing this season.

Got my orange!!!:thumb:

Well, all the planets aligned, and I’ll be in a stand with a rifle on the Salt Fork for the first time since 2009. My rifle is a “some assembly required” model... It sure is easy to travel with though and is zeroed at 200 yards.:thumb:
