Hideaway is the original, but they have expanded at least three times, it's much bigger. They do NOT have the Hideaway cups like the franchise locations. Eskimo Joes is someplace you should experience at least once. Their burgers are okay, the cheese-fries are great. The Joe Clothes store is attached to the restaurant, so if you want clothes, you might as well have lunch. Mexican food: Mexico Joes has been open for years so it can't be too bad ( I haven't eaten there in 10 years), my favorite Mexican places in Stillwater in order are: Tacos Los Primos at 2000 N. Boomer Rd, - small, dive-like place in an old Pizza Hut location. Mariachi Mexican Grill at 1717 E White Barn Dr - On the golf-course, good food but short on parking. El Tapatio at 825 S Perkins Rd Burgers: Ron's Hamburger at 811 E 6th Ave (closed Sunday) Eskimo Joes at 501 W Elm Ave - get the cheese fries Five Guys at 611 N Perkins Rd (burger chain - I haven't eaten at this location but have at others, one of my favorite burger places. Stay away if you're allergic to peanuts!) Shortcakes Diner at 219 N Main St - typical old school diner place serving breakfast, burger. Been there since the early 80's. Random: Coney Island at 223 S Washington St - original location but definitely not the original place. Was gutted and expanded circa 2019. Unique places for a beer: The Great White Buffalo Tavern - crowd changes based on time of day and day of week. Georges Stable - been there forever Treehouse Tavern - Think large metal shed turned into a bar out in the middle of a field. Smoking is allowed. Unique but getting there in rainy season is challenging.
