Velveta Mac and cheese plus two links of hot Italian sausage, browned and crumbled, with diced bell peppers and onions cooked until almost tender. That’s my go to for boxed stuff. Amy’s brand is tasty too.

Prefer to just make it myself with real cheese, not velveta. It takes longer and costs a lot more though.

Next time I see it, I will have to share the recipe for homemade M&C the cast iron group all rave about. Personally when I make homemade I use some shortcuts. I boil the whole grain elbow mac or pasta, make a package of pioneer gravy mix, mix that all together then start layering with cheese in a baking dish. Once all built up I cover with foil and bake until all melted.

The problem with real cheese is the oil that separates. It's good in tacos but not Mac and cheese. But boxed imitation powdered cheese never belongs in Mac and cheese
