Do a crime and type of crime search. The trend in Oklahoma over the last decade or more is that small town = meth town. Not always, but it's generally the norm. Now you can add pot grow houses to the equation lol.

A good source for crime statistics would be the OSBI website. One can even look far enough into the data to see statistics for most counties and cities.

In your momma’s bedroom.
For the record: You can’t swing a dead cat in the country without hitting a grow operation anymore. They are everywhere. Most of them a decent people just attempting to get rich. There are some that fall into the sketchy zone. Personally I’m a whole lot more concerned about the tweakers and meth cookers.

I’d say check out south of the Blanchard area.

Or go talk to the county sheriff. My brother's father-in-law was going to buy a place, but his wife made him ask the sheriff about it first. The sheriff said if he bought it, make sure that everything that could be carried off was chained down or else the tweekers would make off with it.

Pauls Valley
Washington area will probably be more pricey than you’d like, but it’s a good area. 40 minute commute time will get you as far south as Paul’s Valley, which isn’t cheap by any means but is more affordable than Purcell-north. Maysville is a nice enough area that has an easy drive to the interstate via 74. Wanette/Asher is an area to consider as well. No small town is Mayberry anymore, but many have just enough good to deal with the bad, and usually that bad keeps to itself a lot better than it does in the metro.
