I can highly recommend getting the procedure done. I had my surgery back in May of 2013 by Dr. David Mallory on the recommendation of my optometrist. He is an exceptional surgeon and his staff is as well. Read about him at this link: Dr David Mallory - Southwest Eye Clinic In reading about him, you will find that he is something of a pioneer in the industry of cataract surgery. While my blog posting was more about God's "design" of humans, I did write a bit about my scheduled surgery back in April of 2013. My vision prior to surgery had been something like 20-400, which is technically being legally blind, but in my last visit to my optometrist, he told me that the best he could do was correct my vision to 20-25 with glasses. He also told me that I would certainly need the surgery within a year, so with the knowledge that we might be retiring close to that year, we decided to go ahead that year with the surgery. Now, without glasses, my vision has been corrected to 20-25. I went with some special lenses because of astigmatism in one eye. My right eye focuses at roughly 2 feet to 5 feet and my left eye focuses for long distances. I did have a set of prescription glasses done that gives me the ability to still shoot my rifles, even though my dominant eye (right one) is close focus. By all means, get it done.
