Every time I pass one of those markers naming someone I take a picture or write it down then look it up later. Some of the stories are amazing.
It always reminds me of Provo's Privy.

Please don't pollute my fishing holeThese people that disrespect the flag and our veterans need to get tossed off a bridge.
There is a stretch of Highway that on I-44 that runs by OCCC that’s named after Bill Kalsu. He was an all All-American tackle @ OU that went on to be rookie of the year with the Buffalo Bills. He went to Nam to satisfy his ROTC obligations and died in combat for our country. True hero also. His son was born two days after he was killed. I’ve known his son and wife for several years tending to their Ac and heat. Great people that lost a great man sacrificing for our country. I’m sure he could have got out of going, but he had the integrity to fulfill his agreement.Had to attend a meeting about 2 hours from my home. On the way back I crossed over a bridge that stopped me in my tracks. I stopped my truck and walked over to the sign designating the naming of the bridge for a local that died in a war. I remember why I won't watch the Olympics or support them EVER. I watched opening night when some of the US participants knelt in disrespect the flag ala Collin, I can't play anywhere because I suck, Kaepernick.
Several have done interviews with international media disrespecting the racists country that is supporting them. I'm done with the Olympics too and I hope the US Olympic committee goes broke.
This is what got my attention and my blood boiling again.
Thank you sir for honoring another hero. That includes your dadThere is a stretch of Highway that on I-44 that runs by OCCC that’s named after Bill Kalsu. My dad was drafted and served. My mom said he came back a different man. He still hardly talks about it other than saying he came back alive. I’m not really sure what all he saw, but I know it affected him greatly.
Thank you and God bless you and all you have honored.Steelfingers - Thank you for your post. I have great respect for all law enforcement and the military.. My Father was in WW2 as an instructor at Ft Sill teaching the soldiers how to shoot the artillery pieces. My Godfather was one of Merrill's Marauders who fought the Japanese in Burma. 2500 men went into the jungle and only 100 survived. My Godfather was 1 of 100 survivors. My cousin is being inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame on 23, October 2021 for his service to our country and for what he did to help his Vietnamese friends escape Vietnam and settle in Oklahoma using his own money. I have been told that this induction is equivalent to receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor.
I'm sorry too. I just can't keep from being raw lately. I need to chill. Sorry againMaybe that came out wrong. It’s kinda sad that the majority or athletes have been working their whole lives for this chance. Ratings are down because of a handful. I saw the opening ceremony of 600 plus athletes with a good majority chanting USA, smiling, and shaking their hands in the air. Guess the few bad apple analogy works
