Basically a group who started creating and hosting files that would allow the common man to 3d print a firearm was told to take it down. They went to court and fought back and won. The feds settled and on August 1st you will be able to download full 3d printable firearm files. So since you can also download plans to create a 3d printer as well as the fact that thousands if not millions of them are already out there it effectively kills background checks and gun control. Not that it ever really worked anyway.

It's not as dead as the opinion piece suggests. The firearms being printed are basically one-shot affairs; to get anything that lasts longer--especially in a real caliber--still requires metalworking.

But if they ban possession, that might include 3d printed guns too.....?
Sure, they wouldn't know you had it, but as soon as you shoot it you're in big trouble.

In this hypothetical scenario, the people that would be doing the shooting, would be shooting the people who need to be shot to reverse tyranny.

The epitome of the function, utility and purpose of the 2nd Amendment.

No one is banning weapons in America.

Not until they ban Sugar. Diabetes kills more than guns by 2.5x.

Maybe older generations were easily fooled, but MATH is easy. And logic is easier.

I don't see 3D printing being the death of gun control. You can make something just as effective if not more effective, for a lot cheaper, with a trip to a hardware store.

"They" are still scared of an armed citizenry, and will never stop trying.
