I get that argument all the time. There's a hoard of cyclists that roam te busy streets, refusing to use the sidewalks, because they have the right of way. (rights to use road) Then they're always up in arms when one gets hit/smooshed/killed... (no doubt horrible how accidents happen)

Legal is legal, the cops were uninformed and not resourceful enough to get a quick answer which resulted in them drawing down on a law abiding citizen. Douche or not, the cops should lose their badges over this fiasco.

Maybe one of the reasons we have so many regulations is because nimrods like this don't use prudent caution. Some idiot does something stupid, gets himself hurt, then legislation creates a law. Isn't that how it usually goes? Laws come after now days.
