Anyone have any experience with a Harley "Cop Glide"? I am looking at some police Harleys that have been turned in after a two lease. They are basically 2009 Ultra Glides with solo air seats, heated grips, ABS and the 103" motor. About 6,000 miles, around $13,000. Would have to spend a little money after buying to completely "de-LEO" the bike. Thanks!:thumb:

Not sure if it was the bike you're looking at because I know zilch about bikes, but whatever bikes the OKC police use which is some type of harley are smooth bikes. I drove one and it was the most balanced, smoothest bike I've ever driven.

They are good bikes. Well maintained and typically have full service records. Since they are fully dressed with lights, you'll want to pull those off or switch them for bags without lights.

The good thing is the engines are STRONG and they put out enough juice to power just about anything you can put on them.

Sounds like a great deal for a full dressed 09 Harley. Better then you'll find on the open market!

+1 on them being great bikes.

But bear in mind that every time I've seen a motorcycle LEO going after someone and on funeral escorts where two or more play leap frog, their riders absolutely hammer them. Can't say I blame them though, I've known to twist the right grip myself.

Is it a OHP or City. The OHP tend to take care of theirs better than the City's.Keep in mind that the Police bikes do not have the electrical overlays required for cruise controlls or radios.By the time you de-leo,replace the seat and a few other things you don't save much, especially since they have no radio, speakers, passenger pegs or the other creature comforts .
I own a shop in Yukon and worked for Harley World for 5 years, that is why I know these things

The lack of typical features found on comparable touring Harleys make a seemingly "Good deal" not so good. I've heard of "Cop Glides" being sold for really good prices and then being used for bagger project bikes. Is that what you're planning?

I see that with the non-LEO escort services, haven't seen LEO running escort much in Tulsa.

Like any vehicle that is used almost daily the bikes could have some maintenance issues. The price seems a bit high to me...
