Have or thinking about buying a "home assistant" speaker device

You know, I didn't own a TV until I was 24, when I had my first child. Only reason I got it was so I could watch the weather when it was bad. Except during the spring weather season, and winter storms, it stayed turned off.

Bought my first computer in the mid-90s, way after most folks got one. Only reason I bought it was the boys wanted some new-fangled computer game everyone was playing for Christmas.

If it wasn't for Grumpy I wouldn't have a tv or a computer, just a radio and a phone (yes I know). And I could probably do without the phone.

I actually don't need one of those devices for two reasons.

One, they spook me out, just thinking that they are sitting there, waiting for me to talk to it. (I barely talk to my phone.)

Two, I have a wife of just shy (roughly a month and a half) of 50 years.

I would not buy one and if someone gave me one I would put it in the bathroom. Let them record the sounds coming from there with a 60 some year old man around.

I didn't have a computer until 2001. It was an old one that was given to me.

Didn't have a credit card until I was 33.

I won't send my DNA into any testing site either. Grumpy asked me tonight if there was anything in my past that worried me. I just laughed. A little "mystery" is a good thing, right??
